Clooz 2

I was surfing around looking for new genealogy software tools, and have come across this rather neat little program. It's called Clooz, and I wanted to let people know about it.

Now, I've only just downloaded it and I'm sure it will take some trial before I can really say how useful it is. So for now, I'm just introducing the product without much personal opinion.

What makes Clooz different from most genealogy programs, is that it's designed to help you file all those little bits and pieces of information that you come across in your studies. This is NOT program to store all your ancestor links and details.

The basic idea of the program is to enter the various documents that you come across, and link them to various people. This gives you a record of when/where you came across names for future, in-depth study.

Templates for many different kinds of information are included (mostly census data), and you just need to fill the blanks to create your document records.

It's a sizable program, and it could take a long time to download if you don't have high-speed internet access. Version 2.0 is just being released now, so you can only get the program via download. The website says that a CD version will be available soon, should you not be able to download such a large file.

You can download a fully-functioning demo version from Clooz.com. You have free use of the program for 30 days or 15 uses, whichever comes first. Check out their website for full details and features of this unique program.

Just to note, version 2.1 is the latest and has been release since the original writing of this review. Make sure you check out the newest features and details.
